Our Commitment to Safety & Community Care
At Shea Butter Babies Productions™, we believe that art thrives in environments built on trust, care, and accountability. As a Black-led performance company rooted in joy, resistance, and radical expression, we are committed to fostering spaces that are inclusive and affirming for all.
Below is our Safety Policy & Code of Conduct, created to ensure that our events remain supportive and liberatory for artists, crew, volunteers, and audience members alike.
Safety Policy
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or violence of any kind. This includes but is not limited to:
Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or ableism
Unwanted physical contact or sexual harassment
Disrespecting performer boundaries on or off stage
Filming or photographing performers without consent
Our safety team will be on-site during every production to support a welcoming and secure environment. Anyone found violating our safety policy may be asked to leave the event without refund.
Code of Conduct
We ask all community members to:
Respect each other’s identities, boundaries, and artistry
Ask for consent — in conversation, in touch, and in capturing images
Uplift Black, queer, and marginalized voices through words and action
Report unsafe or inappropriate behavior to a member of our team
We hold ourselves and our community to a high standard of care and accountability. If you’d like to learn more about our safety approach or collaborate on creating safer spaces in your work, please hello@illuminewellnessllc.com.
